László Mádi-Máté Mészáros: InSoundOut
Central Europe Dance Theatre

"…everything owes its existence solely and completely to sound.
Sound is a factor which holds it together.
Sound is the basis, the form and shape.
In the beginning was the word, and the word was god.
We are told that this is how the world began, and how creation took shape.
If we put that into the modern idiom, and say that into the great voids of space,
came a sound and matter took shape."
(Dr. Peter Guy Manners)

A 2015-ben elindított K-Arcok sorozat egyik legfrissebb előadása Mészáros Máté és Mádi László közös alkotása.

Performer and creator: László Mádi
Scene: Máté Mészáros
Lights: Zoltán Fogarasi, Máté Mészáros
Consultant: Dávid Mikó
Music: László Mádi
Choreographer: Máté Mészáros

Inner Outlines is a sequence that offers a surface for the choreographer and the performer to work closely together. Thanks to the genre of a solo act, the dancer’s character appears through their presence on stage; also, during the rehearsal period, the performer responds to the ideas the choreographer offers – this is how the shared work of two creating entities become a portrait, a sketch.

Progressive. Stylish. Contemporary. The Central Europe Dance Theatre (CEDT) is one of the most powerful and impressive dance companies, wich is unique in the region: beside the expanding and developing repertory, the Dance Theatre In Education, Young Choreographers’ Platform and education programmes play an essential role in our mission.

Zsanett Jakab-Csaba Molnár: Lilith
Central Europe Dance Theatre

A person – woman, dancer – stands in the empty space defined by the walls of the theater. Patiently looking forward to the spectators while they find their seats, so she can begin her revelation. Her body and personality serve as a medium through which she opens up to a collective information channel.

"She portrays pictures, feelings, emotions, concrete thoughts, opinions, problems from the information flow of the accumulated and undisturbed chaos of the past, the present and the future. She does not form an explicit, unanimous opinion, but she shows options and possible solutions. Like the ancient and controversial character of “Lilith,” which has a wide range of interpretations: a female demon, an old sumer goddess, a goddess of the high altitudes’ winds and a witch. She symbolizes the learned, strong woman, and the symbol of emancipation."
(Csaba Molnár)

"A choreographer, a performer, and a wealth of floating jingles, through a sort of distorting mirror, and in a witchly cold-hearted tone about the female principle. The K-Arcok series is one of the most exciting, cutting-edge initiative of the Central Europe Dance Theater (KET). The invited choreographers are preparing a solo for a member of the company by their choice. Creator and dancer drift into the unknown at this time, a genre that is more risky and more trustworthy than dance. However, this does not seem to be hard case to Csaba Molnár choreographer and Jakab Zsanett dancer, who seemingly very much stumbled upon the creation of the LILITH, a feminist symbol of Sumerian female daemon or other references: the biblical Éva inverse believed , a prominent figure of a mythical woman who does not have a patriarchal tradition."
(Csaba Králl's Laudation for the Lábán Rudolf Prize of 2017/extract)

Lábán nominee in 2018.
